How To Spot It

There is an article in the October's issue of Men's Health entitled "Cancer-Proof your Body." One section is "Inheriting a "C" note." It says about TC: "Talk to the men on your mom's side. Your susceptibility may be determined by a mutation on Mom's X-chromosome; inheriting this bad gene could increase your risk by 50 times. If your brother has had TC, you're eight to 10 times more likely to develop it. Genetics accounts for 3 percent of all cases." In my son's case, it was his father who had TC, so my son doesn't even fall in that 3%. One thing we have all learned on this board, don't base your decisions on percentages.
