    • Just for the record Nancy said I most likely won't have time to ever get inked. You know the old saying, men have feelings too, but there just not that important.

            • As I recall, there were those that chose to be tattooed that day. There were those that chose to be tattoed a couple of days earlier. There were those that chose to do this at a later time. There were those that didn't even consider this until they saw Phyllis' work. And.... there were those that chose not to pursue this for whatever reason. It was their reason, and I respect that. Just a request everyone. I don't want this gathering to be remembered for what some did or didn't do. I let my young Son make a very adult and pemanent decision. In my heart of hearts, I know it wasn't a temporary feeling. I'm quite positive that there would be those who didn't know us or the situation that would judge me to be the most irresponsible Father on the planet. But they don't know me. You know me. And I know all of you. We're Family, complete with teasing and bantering. Remember we're a Family of Pre-battered hearts as well. Don't get me wrong, keep polking fun. Just as long as all involved still think it's fun. Those partaking as well as those just reading. And if I'm completely off base, just throw the sh*t this way. Family is for that too. Hell, I lived through the friggin Almond Joy ordeal.

              • I remember what I did and didn't do. I did spend six hours with some of my favorite people, and I didn't get to sample all the desserts. I'm ready for another family gathering!

                • We're just pokin fun at Bill....and helping him poke fun at himself. For those not at the Family Fix, and because things in writing can be interperted differently than intended, know that those of us kidding with Bill have much respect and love for him. For me, the gaterhing will be remembered as a wonderful time with my "family", and I look forward to the next one. The symbolism of the tats that day was powerful.

After the last family fix we went on for a while about pole dancing
Who knows what the next one will bring!?

I certainly do wear the pants in the family, and I'll put them on as soon as I finish the laundry.

                      • Just checking. Can't help that protective side of myself. If you weren't sure just how much you all mattered to me, I still have the stupid Almond Joy in my freezer from Bill's PPRAC. BTW, you should never disregard the caring advice from your spouse. Then again, never underestimate the convincing power of a natural born instigator. Although I'm sure I don't know any.

I got stuck doing the laundry a few times. But one day I put dry clean only things in the washer and I am happy to say I am now banned from the laundry room.

I was just having a little fun here in what I was writing. Hope it wasn't taken the wrong way. I think Bill knows I am playing. As for that day, I had a great time and look forward to the next get together.

                            • My memories of last Saturday are of finally getting to meet some wonderful people that I consider family. It is ironic that such great things arise as a result of all of us being touched by cancer. The universe is funny that way.

BTW: I do all the cooking, it gets me out of doing the laundry

Tho' much is taken, much abides; and though we are not now that strength which in old days moved earth and heaven; that which we are, we are; one equal temper of heroic hearts, made weak by time and fate, but strong in will; to strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield.

Not at all. It wasn't taken wrong either. Make no mistake, I think the banter is healthy and welcome. I was hoping what I wrote was not taken wrong either. The last tattoo of the evening was a Celtic cross. It went on someone who did more for me than he knows. I've heard I helped him as well. You know him as Jaymo, Nancy and Bill's Son. He brought in his stencil. He sat through all the tattoos. I like to think he healed a little more on Saturday. I'd like you all to know you heal me a little more every time I see you. The common bond sucks, but it is a common bond, and it's strong. So...there it is, my mushy side. I can't even find my pants half the time even if they're washed. Either my Son has stolen and is wearing them, or the dog is sleeping on them.
