  • Good Day!

Well today is a good day, you've probably read on the other thread from Dave that he has been lucky enough to see Dr Einhorn who reckecked his CT scans and blood tests and they showed no growth in the tumours and his blood markers were all well within normal range so Dr Foster is more than happy to re-do the RPLND, there is still a chance that Dave might have to have tip as well but it depends on the findings after the surgery.

It feels crazy to be that happy about a repeat RPLND but out of the options it is our best choice.

Dave said going to IU was a fantastic experience and he was so impressed with Einhorn and Foster. The scary thing is, if we hadn't have gone there then Dave could have been starting TIP, I'm not unrealistic and know that it could still be our future but we are so glad to explore other avenues first.

I would say to anyone, if you can then go to IU they are fantastic, I know you may think we're biased because they gave us the answer we wanted but if you can avoid chemo then who wouldn't. Dave and I have so much confidence in Einhorn that I feel like I'm walking on air.

We're very fortunate now in that we had booked a week in St Maarten and we thought we would have to cancel but Einhorn told us to go relax and enjoy ourselves and Dave's surgery has been scheduled for Nov 15th and again we're fortunate in that my Mum is going to fly our to watch the children whilst Dave and I are in Indy.

Now I suppose I had best pack our cases, Dave is currently flying back from Indy and due to land around 7pm and we fly out tomorrow at 8am so cutting it close!

Thank you all for your support and listening when I was moaning, if it wasn't for this website and a certain couple then we would never have pushed for a second opinion and certainly not have pushed to go to Indy which I would urge anybody to do if they get the opportunity, Einhorn cares for the individual.

    Jo xx

I'm so happy for you guys. See the importance of finding a specialist. And your right, had he not gone to IU, he would be on a different path, that may not have been right.
Go enjoy your vacation together, have a wonderful time.

Glad to hear the good news ! The great thing about Einhorn and Foster, and everyone there is they will never say what someone wants to hear, for the sake of saying something, They says what is..

Yes, Dr Einhorn and the IU group really and truly cares about People.

        Have fun !

I think that type of honesty is evedent in most truely professional doctor's. We found that true with our local oncologist and everyone we delt with at Sloan. It's comforting to know that you are hearing an honest assesment of your condition.

So glad you found IU and Dr. Foster and Dr. Einhorn. They both treated my husband and we are great fans of them both. We stayed at IU for 2 months and then went back for surgeries - if we can help in anyway please let us know. Have fun on your trip!
