  • Bowel Movement

    Hello All,

I'm new to the forum. I've just been diagnosed with Testicular Cancer. Had my Orchiectomy yesterday and today I'm moving around okay, but can't seem to go as I want to. I cannot seem to gather enough strength to bowel move. Is this normal?

I wouldn't worry about it unless it continues to be a problem, in which case you should call your doctor.

Oh, and welcome to the forums! Do you have any more information yet about what to expect from here? Blood test results, etc.?

          More Tests

I had my CT scans today and blood drawn yesterday. I shall know the results next week when I next visit my urologist to discuss. I shall post as soon as I know more. Again, thank you for your help.

that is probably a result of the anestesia(hope thats right spelling). you should soon be back to normal. also if you have to take pain meds they will make you constipated as well. let us know all your results when you get them back. brian

Awsome Forum For Support And New Friends

I feel a lot better this morning. Hopefully I can go as usual. I have prescribed pain medication but decided to ride out the pain without taking the meds. Thanks Brian. I find it so weird that most of the people on here is having a child upon discovering that they have TC. My wife and I will be having our second child in October.

i had my I/O on the 23rd and I can tell you that for me i firstly had a problem relaxing enough to urinate for the first 18-20 hours. after that it was about 3 days before a bowel movement happened. Though it appears normal following this procedure it is still not fun! I had to use a suppository (sorry to be so graphic) however this got things moving. As well I held a towel for pressure against the incision to help me feell better if I had to push a bit at all. Again I am sorry to be so graphic but if you are feeling like I was, all humility is gone out the window and you just want to get this taken care of. The towel probably really made no true difference however, it gave me a sense of security.

hang in there as things will get better!

                    peace and love,
