I more then likely have a seminoma I had blood work done and both counts (afp hcg) were less then 2 The ultra sound found 5 masses on my left it also recoreded irregular blood flow to the left. A cat scan was ordered and its conclusion was no further spreading.
My question is should I consider observation or get it removed for path report.
I ask because everthing says no but the mass I relize 95% + masses are cancer. I guess I am answering my own question; am I!
Any way let me know your thoughts; I would hate to be told it was not cancer after the fact that is why I ask.

    Thaks in advance!

I don't think the doctors will give you the option of leaving a cancer tumor in you body. That testicle will have to be removed and if the doctor says it can stay find another doctor.

      Thanks for the advice

      I have a question:
I ride a bicyce; my friends attorney rides a bicycle.
I guess I have TC (well pretty sure) and I know for a fact he had and went through what I am about to. His was far worse from what I understand.

Anyway, I am sure you know of one other person who has had it and rode a bike!

I know thousands of people ride bikes and never encounter this horrible sickness, but you would have to admit there may be a link.

Does anyone know of links (websites) I could read on this?

I ask because I love to ride and I am not feeling to confident that I should do it again in light of my recent events and thoughts.

If any one has thoughts or facts please let me know!

I think we can be confident that bicycling doesn't cause testicular cancer. Ride on, Clyde!

          Clyde:
There is no link between tc and bike riding. If there was it would be international news. If you have discomfort after a ride try a new seat, but good or bad seat it won't cause cancer.

I saw an article couple of month ago stating that bike riding is bad for prostate and reproductive organs. According to medical studies it might cause problem with sexual activity.

never had a problem with the sex

                BUt,
I would agree that i have had numbness in my whole area down there and if i am not mistaken a lack of o2 is where cancer thrives, I could be wrong and I think if you acount for the many cyclest out there i would say it is safe.
                It's just odd thats all!

I since got a seat with a complete cut out in the center for relief of any tissue.
I would recomend this type of seat for any one involved in cycling.

Good advice on the saddle. I would also recomming getting out of the saddle and standing up every once in a while to get blood flowing through the area.

If there was a link between TC and bike riding, I think there would be more cases. For instance, just about everybody in China rides a bike and few own a car, but the indidence of TC there is eight times lower than in Denmark (1 in 100.000 versus 8 in 100.000).
                  Sincerely,
                  Rune

It's dangerous to draw these kinds of conclusions without statistical evidence. You could as easily say, "Hey, he ate Corn Flakes just before being diagnosed. I ate Corn Flakes just before being diagnosed. Corn Flakes must cause cancer!" Humbug.

I get to use a word I learned in college, spurious results. We always used: eating ice cream causes people to drown when in fact more people are in the water when it is hot out and when it is hot they seem to eat more ice cream, but the eating ice cream doesn't have anything to do with the number of people the die.

As one of my professors repeated ad nauseum "correlation does not imply causation" Meaning that just because two events are always related you can't assume that one causes the other to occur.
