  • scanned both kidneys for a long time

During the ultra sound, they found a tumor in my left testicle, and whats worrying me is he scanned my kidneys, my left one wich is the side of my effected testicle he asked me to take a deep breath in saying its hiding and that it would show up better, but he spent abit of time on it, afterwards, when I asked he said they looked normal but I dont believe him, is it normal to scan the kidneys after a tumor is found in the testicle, and was it normal for him to ask me to breath in and hold my breath?

I imagine he was looking for enlarged retroperitoneal lymph nodes, since that's the first place testicular cancer is likely to spread. Holding your breath just stops you from blurring the image by moving.

The radiologist mentioned having a scan forgot if he mentioned MRI or what, but he pointed to the chest area, do you think this means they found it has spread, or is this routine?

That's part of the standard workup for someone with tc. The normal route that tc travels is the testicle then lymph nodes (near the kidneys) and then the lungs. Take some comfort from the fact that your doctors know what to do.

Thanks, thats a bit of a relief, I am asuming the worst and getting paranoid, I am going to see the urologist in 7 hours and I am expecting more bad news, the radiologist basicly said its a seminoma but he wasnt being very clear about it.
The guy doing the scan said he was scanning my kidneys, I have a feeling it has spread there, I am feeling pressure below my left kidney I could just be paranoid though but it has been 3 years.

What happens if its spread to the nodes, does that mean I need them removed? or can I just get chemo?

He took ultrasound pictures of my spermatic cord, quickly looked at my bladder area, then looked at my kidney area, cant remember if he took pictures but I would guess he did.

Everything that's being done is standard. If it has spread to the lymph nodes it will probably be chemo for you, I know the idea of having it spread can scare the hell out of you but it really doesn't change the fact that this is still very curable.

I am not worried so much about chemo, I would be more worried about RPLND, I dont even want to write what is going through my head, I am expecting the worst, I know its curable but I am scared of the operations, I have panic disorder and ocd, some drugs dont agree with me, for example if I take ecstacy I have flashbacks for about 2-3 months afterwards and increased anxiety, is any possible surgery going to require a dissociative anesthetic as aposed to just N2O, if I do haveto go under a disociative, dexamphetamine usually prevents any anxiety or panic, are drugs such as amphetamines allowed on chemo?

                Michael:
You have OCD and you're messing around with something homemade junk like ecstacy? That has to stop and I mean now. Forget the preaching, but during your treatments you will need to take better care of yourself. I don't know what these homemade drugs do to your blood work but you may want to tell your oncologist. That will at least prepare him if anything really strange shows. The doc may give you hell but he won't report you or anything like that but for proper treatment he needs to know what stuff may be floating around in your system. Please tell him about all of the perscribed and non-perscribed pills that you take.

I havent taken any drugs in 2 months, not since my last bad experience, and I am never taking street drugs again, I have quit caffeine and alcohol, and plan to quit smoking extremely soon (I have quit before but started up again due to weight gain)

I am not being judgemental but while you are in treatment you need to be clean. Most oncologist won't even want you taking vitamines or herbal teas during treatment so for your own sake be careful, it's really important right now.

I will echo dadmo stop any X and any other drugs. I worked in corrections and I can tell you many stories of people doing what they thought was a minor fun drug and they paid in time in jail or the hospital. Those drugs can kill you DEAD as a pet rock as you know or have been told by friends or on the net you can cook yourself taking it. Trust me many here have done things that we shouldn't have done but these designer drugs that come in from other countries are so dangerous that you are playing with TNT.
Stay clean listen to the doctor and be honest with them about anything that you take they will tell you to stop give you maybe a warning and if they suspect you are using they can drop you and then you are screwed!!!!!!!!
I rant because I care not because I am a preacher you said you have been clean for a couple months just keep it that way
                      Good Luck

Yea, man I see where your comming from, even all this year I probly only did drugs about 4 times, it was the year before I went hard.

Do you think they would allow TRT while on chemo or radio?

Well today I think I have been officially diagnosed. Went and saw the urologist, then another urologist at a better hospital, I am being so paranoid, I was looking at my ultrasound and I saw what I thought was a massive tumor on my left kidney, so I looked on google imagines and turns out its my spleen but it seems pressed up agains my kidney, dunno if that is normal.

What is worrying me is I am pretty sure I have lymphoma, it was on the report papers as "possible lymphosis" and I have been feeling a pressure on my pelvic bone a lot like the feeling u get in ur bladder when you need to pee, I can push up against it so I am pretty sure its my lymph nodes, I have had it before but the feeling was so insignificant I never thought anything of it, I wonder why the hell I am getting all the symptoms all of a sudden this week, even my right testicle hurts but theres nothing wrong with it, the doctors pointed out it was perfect except for tiny cyst on the epidymis.

I also had a CT scan today, iodine was a pretty funky feeling, tasting the substance wich is going into your blood.

Also, some of the blood test came back today, LDH, wich was normal, something like 45UL below the upper limit.
But that wouldnt indicate the other markers would not be extremely high right?

                              lymphoma

Is it possible the doctors could diagnose lymphosis via ultrasound, I am worried I may actually have primary lymphosis, because they used the word lymphosis, wouldnt that be like using the term "lung cancer" if it had spread to the lung?

Also will my symptoms improve after the I/O?
