Hey man, arnt we in the same boat. I got my dressing taken off and the scar healed nicely, cant even notice it in the mirror. the side that leaked had a circle about 1/2 cm in diameter that still hadnt healed at the time but its been almost a week since getting it taken off and it should be healed in acouple days.

The swelling in my leg is still there but I have gotton some feeling back and the pain in that area is like 98% recovered, although there is a new nerve playing up and its running straight down Sir Lance alot. But Im not worried so much about it cause it should sort itself out like the rest.

I spoke to my urologist and I have come to the conclusion most of us have had that particular nerve cut... or not.

He said if the nerve isnt cut it causes pain when the skin in the side of the scrotum and inner upper(where it joins the pelvis) brush together, wich would drive a person nuts, he desribed the pain wich was simular to what I had during the 1st 3 weeks, and by everyone here saying they have numbness for a year later, it would be a cut nerve, my urologist told me over the year the nerves from the leg grows around to compensate, I remember reading somewhere it can take upto 3 years.

My mum had an operation once and she had numbness for a while and she spoke to my cousin who was a doctor and he told her they must of cut and nerve, and 6 months later her numbness went away.

So has any1 here specificly had numbess where the leg meets the groin or at the top of the scrotum or skin at the base of the penis on the side of inscision?

Also I have what I thought was the vas deferens, it is on the side(of inscision) of the base of the penis below the pubic bone, it has a tethered end so I am suspecting a cut nerve but the end doesnt feel weird like a neuroma should be. My urologist says it is scar tissue, but it is like a thick long vessel I thought it was the vas deferens because because it is like 3-4mm in thickness, and it is defenetly comming out of the inguinal canal.
