Hi Again, Im spending some tyme goin over the board to gather some information for our next visit to the docotor on !5 Dec... Am i right to thynk that Teratoma is a benign tumour? where is Seminoma is not.... im confused...one of my first visits to thehospital i asked what non seminoma was and was told that Non Seminoma and teratoma were same thyng but reading the posts on here thys is wrong....I now understand that seminoma means 100% pure and that Non seminoma can have other cell types .....but wot is teratoma? Im getting bit mixed up here i thynk, could someone tell me the correct answers plz ....THANX, Yvonne

Well, that depends on where you live. In the U.K., teratoma is synonymous with non-seminoma.

In the US Teratoma is a cell type that could become another maligant cancer (bone, muscle, etc) over time. That is why in the US surgery is always recommended to remove what might be a teratoma tumor.Lori and Jon

2/29/2008 - markers continue to be normal!
9/16/2008 - released from Dr. Einhorn's care
