  • CT head scan.

Who here has had one? did you notice anything weird happen with your eyes during the scan? My eyes were closed but it felt like someone shining a light in my eye with my eyelids closed. I asked the doctor and he said no lights are used during the scanning.
Ever since then I have noticed when using my mobile in the dark that the light trails from the LCD screen last about 5 seconds instead of the usual 1 second.

I always haveto cop the rare side effects from everything.

I've had a couple of ct scans on the brain, without any side effects.

BEST part, was no oral contrast was required for these scans ~!

I didnt have contrast either, then later they realised I had never had a CT head scan before so they wanted to do a 2nd one right after with contrast and I was like, uh cant I just have an MRI? so now on monday I am having an MRI wich I have always wanted cause I would be surprised if they didnt find anything at all wrong.

I defenetly noticed something like a light being shined in my eye with my eyes closed, and seeing as though the phone thing is so noticable and I use my phone every day I am sure it started happening since the CT scan. I havent noticed anything weird with my vision, infact as has happened before, my vision has improved abit since supplimenting with extra zinc. I will post here if it goes away.

        Michael,

Why in heaven's name are you doing a head CT? It's not related to your seminoma is it?

        Regards,

My son had an MRI on his brain, not a CT. He never had any side effects. Dianne

Not related to the seminoma, not directly anyways.

My generalized headaches wich I have been getting since surgery started turning into bad migraines, and I had weird symptoms on my left arm and leg(not numbness or tingling, but something really minor) I was also getting light headed, so I started getting paranoid it might of been a mini stroke but then I started thinking it could of been my mind playing tricks because it wasnt exacly sudden like a stroke would be, anyway I went to emergency and after waiting 2 hours there as soon as I was seen by a doctor they did a blood test within 10 mins and kept me overnight for a CT scan 1st thing in the morning, funnily enough the 1st hospital I went to turned me away so the hospital I ended up getting my CT scan done wrote a sort of complaint into some book about it, I also overheard them saying how my urologist should of taken care of me, cause I told them I was switching urologists. This hospital I went to is the best in terms of doctors actually caring about there patients.
In the ED you can see letters from patients thanking them on how well they were treated, and the doctors there are carreer ED doctors, not resident ones like in other hospitals.

Reading the papers I was left with I actually figured out all the coded doctor writing. The CT scan came back clean but there awaiting proper evaluation. My neurological function(physical exam for stroke) came back "subjectivly normal". I asume they have put subjectivly in there to help with me getting an MRI.
The MRI request form says its to check for metastisis, but I think the doctors just wrote that to make sure I do get an MRI because there hard to get and you usually haveto go through a neurosurgeon to get one aparently.

I really dont think there gonna find any tumour or stroke, but would be surprised if they dont find something more minor wrong with my brain, especially due to the fact I almost had a conccusion afew years back from 3 hits to my temple.

I have started taking zinc wich helps with hormones and I have been feeling much better in the past few days so seeing as though all this crap started since surgery I am pretty sure the headaches are just hormonal.

My Oncologist ordered a brain CT for staging purposes, after some enlarged nodes were discovered and diagnosed as a relapse. Probably because my original tumor was primarily E/C
