TC in Japan

Hi everyone.
I'm probably going to do all the wrong things on this community, so please forgive me.

I am a New Zealander who lives in Japan and have just been told today that I have a tumor. (place self evident). I've spent the night talking to my close friends around the world but none of them live here in Japan.

I've got more tests this friday to decide where next, but am interested to know if anyone one else has dealt with this here in Japan. (my apologies to all japanese men who also have this, but my nihongo is very small, I am still learning).

Welcome to the forum. I can't help with the Japan issue, sorry. Do you have any specific questions we can help you with? I see that they found a tumor, that almost always means that you will lose the testicle.

Welcome David (thedster) im sorry about your situation but youve hit the right place here on thys forum...The guys and gals on here are great... So i hope you will keep the board up to date with your circumstances, they are a real comfort when you most need it.... My hubby has just finished hys 4 x BEP chemotherapy and we awaitng to find out wot thenext step is as hys tumours have not completley gone.... We are in Scotland and our Doctor is one of the best here at the Beatson Oncology Centre ... I hope the sun shines on you and try to remember it is a cureable cancer.... stay happy, Yvonne

Welcome, David! I'd love to see New Zealand one day. I was in Japan twenty years ago for about a week, but I sure wasn't thinking about cancer at the time. Be sure to let us know what your tests show. Is your orchiectomy scheduled?

Hi all of you and thanks so much for the support.

I've had the final tests today and go in for surgery on Monday. I guess in Japan they don't muck around. All the tests were done in two hours. The company I work for provided a translator and its all going well.

We worked out next week so I can still go home for Christmas, not necessarily the best excuse for it, but now I just want the tumor out and start getting back to life. No idea of post treatment yet, but will deal with that then.

Its been amazing the support I've had from friends around the world (I travel alot). Its times like this you start to understand.

Hey m8 . if your planning on returning to Japan i could ask a very close friend of mine where you can go and where you can receive the best treatment , in and around Tokyo .My friend is from Tokyo .
