Yvonne, you can add your "avatar" photo through your "user control panel." Click "User CP" in the light blue bar, then "Edit Avatar" in the list on the left.

Residual masses after chemotherapy often are removed surgically, but surveillance to see if they shrink on their own is an option when markers are normal.

    Hi Yvonne,

I don't know as much about this as a lot of the folks on this
site, but if his markers are back to normal, maybe they are waiting
to see if the mass shrinks over time? I don't think it's unusual for
doctors to recommend surveillance when the treatment is done
and the markers have returned to normal.

I know how hard it is not to worry. You and your hubby have been
through a lot, but it sounds pretty positive now. I hope some of the
more knowledgeable folks will post and help ease your worries.

    Happy Holidays!

    Diane

    Monitoring.

    Hi Everyone

My hubby and i were at our consultant yesterday (18dec) and they have decided to just monitor my husband... His tumourmarkers are back to normal but he stll has residue left, biggest being 6cm.... Is thys normal? should we be worried? he has to go back each month to have hys blood checked and every 3 month for ct scan... The consultant did say that the most recent of ct scan was taken only 4 days after he had hys last chemo injection and he expects that the tumours will have shrunk even more since then (21 Nov)...My husband is looking and feeling alot better and hys energy levels are coming back but i just wondered why they neva decided on the operation to remove the leftovers... He is also to get hys stents out as well .... opinions please, good or bad very much appreciated.... I sound ungrateful but really im very happy, i know some folks up at that hospital wouldnt be getting good news so honestly i am very grateful, my prayers were answered....Thanks again, oh and how do i put my phot up or is that just the admin that can do that.... I just thought it would be nice if you kould see us.... Yvonne
Working...
