Those are some great posts... I'm sure Nick will be on the road to recovery and hitting the links in no time. Definitely agree with Fed, make sure he takes it easy! Rest up and let your body heal.

Nick, Papa and Mom, Truly sounds like a STRONG and wonderful family.
Good luck tomorrow. We'll all be thinking of you an we know you will do great.
Here are some things that helped me after the surgery.
Stool softener - the painkillers tend to stop you up and trying to get things worked out can be uncomfortable considering the incision.
Lots of water - especially for the first 24+ hours. The anesthesia can cause nausea, flush it out.
Patience - The pathology report can never come fast enough. Once you get in attack mode the waiting between each step is tough but be patient and use this board to vent all you want.
Wishing you the best,
LiveSTRONG,
-chris

A positive attitude and a strong support system will do wonders for you in the upcoming days. As Rover mentioned, waiting for the results will certainly test you mental toughness.
Nick:
How are you holding up? I know how scared you must be but you can beat this, and we will do everthing we can to help with that process.

nichols college, its a small little dIII school, but ive been captain since my sophmore year. We actually play your son's alma mater all the time. Actually only one record set so far this year, which has been my worst year of the four, but the best year team wise (shot 69 in the first match, led the team to record nine under but since have had a horrible senior season but hey its only half over right?)
oh and im holding up fine, probably the best out of anyone in my family. i feel fine now that i know what has to be done, it was the waiting and admitting to myself which were the problems. I actually have felt quite well the past couple of days, and have been looking forward to taking the next step in ending this.
The back nine of this season should prove to be inspiring. You have an opportunity to teach your team about life and living. I'm sorry this is happening to you but you will touch many lives while you tour. Of course as guy's they will never tell you that but you will see it in their eyes.

Thanks for all your encouragement and support. Nick's doing unbelievably well. He's right, he is the strongest of all of us! I know he's gonna do great and we're all hoping for the best possible outcome. He's looking at this like a poison in his body and he just wants IT OUT! He's had his spiritual talk with his left and right twins and explained to lefty, he's gotta go, and further warned righty it's all up to him now (ha ha). Seriously, I know we're all going to have peaks & valley's in our attitudes but together we'll carry the one who's struggling and be inspired by the one who's feeling stronger and look to all of you for the dailey lift we need.
Thanks again and keep Nick in your thoughts please,
PapaSloc

Hi Everyone,
Left I/O done today. All went as planned. Nick is home now starting recovery, a bit sore but o.k. Thanks again for all your thoughts and prayers. We'll keep you posted.
PapaSloc:
Now all of you need to try and relax. There is a really good chance that Nick is cured. Did you get any info on how long before the path report is ready? It should take about (a very long) week.

Thanks for the encouragement. We have an appointment for 10 days to have the staples removed and the Doc hopes to have the path back by then. It'll be a long 10 days but we took our big bite out of that elephant today and we're trying to relax as best as possible and know we've done all we can do at this point.
I'm sure Nick will check in in the next day or so.
I bet with his going back to school he returns to normal faster then you guy's.

PapaSloc,
Great to hear that Nick is now on the mend. The waiting part may be a bit unnerving, but with the support system you have in place, I have no doubt in my mind that you will all pull through with flying colors.
Nick,
Enjoy the rest during the long weekend. Take it easy; in no time, you will be more mobile. Remember, each day is better than the last.
Best,
