    quick question:

people say that after the orchiectomy that your lone ball grows
by taking on a bigger work load...but by how much?

anyone got some words about this?

I did not notice any difference at all post surgery. Just glad to have 1 that works!
    Stage III Non-Seminoma- 7/11/06
    Right I/O 7/12/06
    Completed 4x BEP 11/06
    Bi-Lateral RPLND (Dr. Shenifeld)- 11/27/06
    Surveillance since then

When you think about it, what other choice is there but to hope? We have two options, medically and emotionally: give up, or Fight Like Hell.

Mine did in the first several months post I/o- did not measure it and had nothing to compare it against, but maybe 30% bigger - and it was a little sore at times. But, then over time it has seemed to go back to normal. My urologist said it was completely normal, that it was working to take up the load on its own.
Right I/O 4/17/06, Seminoma Stage Ib
      RT (15 days) completed 6/1/06
      All clear as of 5/8/09

In my case, the lone one has grown longer by about 1 cm since the surgery. Since I have to get an U/S as part of my surveillance schedule, I've been getting relatively precise measurements. Pretty normal.
