  • I've just found out I have TC

Wow. What a big shocker. They have rushed me around like a blue arse fly and It feels like i'v been in a masive car crash. The ultrasound guy said that the tuma was around 3cm in size. Could anyone tell me if this means i.v cought it in time???? they said somthing like early but the way they rushed me round was like my life depended on it.

You'll be fine, but how much treatment you need depends on more information. Have you had the testicle removed yet, and if so do you have the pathology report? Have you had a CT scan of your abdomen?

It's great that your doctors were rushing around. Let them keep rushing, rushing to remove the testicle, rushing to do your blood tests, rushing to do your CT scan, rushing to stage your TC, rushing to make you well. Then we will all relax. Last year my son was hobling around after having his I/O the Friday before Thanksgiving. Today, right now, he is ice skating in Central Park with his wife after watching the Macy's parade. They are going to make NYC a Thanksgiving tradition. Had TC, had chemo, got married, bought a house and today is thanking God for a wonderful life. It is a shock, keep posting, let us help you though it, and you will get through it. Dianne

Mom is right the rushing is a good thing. Dianne, as you can imagine I'm thrilled your son is doing so well. I'm hoping jason will be there sooner rather than later.

Welcome, Ryan. Are you sure about the tumor size? 10 cm is almost 4 inches. I'd think you'd have noticed more than a dull ache!

            Gary,
Trust me not to worry. Here is a link to my thread....http://www.tc-cancer.com/forum/showthread.php?t=2697. My TC was 2.5cm Stage IA. Operation was a piece of cake. I was up and around in a few hours after the surgery. Three days after the surgery I was raking leaves, mowing the law, and stacking wood for my fireplace (I don't suggest this though since when my urolgist found out he was not happy with me ). I just completed 3.5 weeks of radiation and even that wasn't bad. It was just more of an incovienence. Anyway, you can read more about my experience on the thread mentioned above and also on the Lance Armstrong site (Craig Gloede).

You're right Scott. Don't know why I thought 10 cm, I must have added one too many zeros. Anyway, I didn't notice an obvious size difference between my testicles, the right one however was rock solid and a little sore to palpation.

[QUOTE=Gary] Thanks for the replies. I have had my opp yesturday and was out the same day. Now I have to wait for my appointment on the 7 december. Then I will get my test results. I have sufferd from a sensative groin for over a year. Can't help wondering the worst. Maybe i.m just worring over nothing. But i keep thinking the little bugger as been in there a while. I was hoping that someone would tell me that the 3cm tuma was nothing. Maybe i just have to go through the process. Once again thanks for for the re-assurance.

                  Gary:
I would be crazy to tell you not to worry it's on tc. Don't beat yourself up over the things you could have done. You are where you are and that's that, let's move foward. When you find out what the staging is you will be given a schedule to follow, post the findings here and sure as heck if anything seems wrong someone will let you know. And as a disclaimer no we are not doctors and no we didn't even sleep at a holiday inn express ( american humor) but this web site is amazing for the depth and breath of knowledge whaen it comes to tc. keep us posted.
