  • Kevin Murphy

    Hello everyone.

It is with a loving heart that I inform you that my wonderful husband, Kevin Murphy passed away April 13th at 4:40 am. Even until 3:00 am, he was still working on some projects for work. He died peacefully and in comfort in his sleep with just myself and the hospital chaplain by his side.

Kevin never saw the cancer as a battle but as a journey. Even at the end, with some internal complications (high level of oxygen and bleo nodules) and his BHCG was > 200K, he never gave up hope. We were calling CU Health Science center to see if he qualified for a phase I clinical trial, while we researched the next set of chemo to try. He chose to leave Thursday morning under his own will. He was expected to live for another few weeks at least. He just decided to sneak on out on his own terms.

Kevin will be remembered by many who loved him. Also, I plan to help remember him by trying to fund a study Avastin to be used in chemo for folks who have had stem cell/high dose chemo failure.

Kevin was a true pioneer for testicular cancer, doing things nobody else had, with Avastin and Cyberknife that killed a 5 inch tumor in his right lung.

I just want to say thanks to everyone for all the love and support over the last 2 years. It is greatly appreciated.
