  • 3 Years - Found Elevated hCG, but CT Scans Clean???

My husband had an orchiectomy of the left testicle 3 years ago and underwent radiation only therapy having level I tecticular cancer. During his experience his hCG levels remained low.

Now, at his semi-annual check up, his hCG leves are above 4.5 (normal I guess for men is below 2.5) and yet his CT scans are all clean... there is so far nothing to show the disease is back or metastasized elsewhere.

What else could cause elevated hCG? I'm hoping that the elevated hCG means something else!

    HELP!

Any thoughts or experience, or resources appreciated.

From the TCRC: "Please note that the normal HCG level is usually less than 5 miu/ml. Also note that the HCG level can become elevated (falsely positive) due to abnormally low levels of testosterone or because of marijuana use."
