My boyfriend finished his chemo over a month ago. We just got back from a vacation with his family near Cabo San Lucas, Mexico where we had an AMAZING time. Since we've been back we've been going to the gym together every day... he's rebuilding strength, and our life and relationship seem to be going right back to normal, which is wonderful.
Today we had his follow up appointment with the doctor. His latest catscan looks pretty good but there is a mass near his Vena Cava (near the Aorta). The doctor said that if my boyfriend had had 100% Seminoma he'd know that the mass was just scar tissue, but because he was 98% seminoma and 2% non-seminoma they have to watch it because it could grow into a tetrinoma. His doctor seemed pretty upbeat and felt it was best to just keep an eye on it. Instead of waiting 3 months for a catscan my bf will go back in 2 months. Other good news is that his bloodwork BEFORE his last round of chemo was _normal_. He had more blood drawn today that the doctor will take a look at too.
So the news seems pretty good. We're really hoping it's just scar tissue that will shrink with time and that he won't need anymore surgery.
So that's the news!
