  • Small liver lesions after chemo?

    Hello Everyone,

I just had my four years post-chemo CT scan, and a careful reading of my scans detected five very small (less than 1 cm) lesions visible on my liver.

When these were found, they went back to last year's scan and found that they had also appeared at that time, so they are stable and unchanging.

Yes, will consult my oncologist -- am dropping off the scans today -- but has anyone else had anything similar show up? Could these be related to or caused by chemo, which I have been told can cause liver damage?

Right side orchiectomy, March 2001, 4.5 cm tumor with probable vascular invasion. Chose surveillance.

9.5 cm groinal lymph node tumor found in Dec. 2001

Finished chemo (cisplatin/etopicide) in March 2002.

Two healthy daughters born naturally after chemo, one in January 2004, another in November 2006.

    Continued remission to present

Are you sure you didn't have them when you started? I say this because my son had some spots on his liver that were noted on his first CT scan. They did an MRI on him to see what they were. Turned out to be nothing. Dianne

      spots

They are going to look back, but it does appear that they were already visible on my scan a year ago, and have not changed.

They are going to look up the earlier scans and yes, it may turn out to be just like your son's situation where there were some existing small lesions.

I have had spots in my lungs for the past five years that have stayed the same size-- docs said it was cancer that is now scar tissue-- maybe that is what you got going on in your liver?? Don't know if that helps much, sorry.
