Thanks
Thanks for letting me vent. I finally got an appointment with a better doctor for a second opinion. His name is Dr. Herbert C. Ruckle and he is the department head at Loma Linda University Urology department.

This is a second cancer, not a recurrence of your first, so I'd expect you to be receiving treatment for seminoma now. I'm assuming your CT scans/chest x-rays have all been clear and you have no elevated markers. Why not continue on surveillance?

Geoff,
Sorry to hear that you are having such a rough run, now is a good time to get yourself to an expert. You need to get the best care possible.
Also, you might want to see an endocrinologist to get your testerone dose accurate.
Good luck.

Tests
The did ultrasound on remaining testical as they found a area the noted back in Oct of 05, that was questionable. Turned out to be cancer too. Guess I lived with cancer in my body, and knowing there was something there for over a year now. Finally had a urologist that wanted to make sure.

A little frustrated
Hello everyone here again. What a great place. Today is not a great day for me. I had a very disheartening appointment for the first trip to the oncologist office. First they had to read up on testicular cancer before even seeing me. That sounds great. Second the doctor said he wanted to follow treatment for my first and more agressive type of cancer. The one that was removed over a year ago. He said to either go on strict observation or get radiation, remember the type I had a year ago was nonseminoma. I told him if he is treating the nonseminoma radiation isnt always what is best, and I heard not useful at all. He told me I was wrong and proceeded to show me on his computer. He changed his ways when he say that treatment on his computer showed that for nonseminoma it was observation, Chemo, or the RPLND. After that, he never admitted he was wrong, just quickly noted that I was due for some more tests, and told me to get them first before making any more discisions. I am also on a testostorne injection of 200mg every three weeks, which my urologist gave me. That seems a low I guess I am just using this place as a sounding board. Thanks everyone.Tags: None
