That is great news!!!! We didn't have time to bank my son's sperm as well and I want to be a grandfather some day. Not too soon though he is only 20.
All the best to you! We stopped chemo on the 17th of March 2006, hard to believe a year has passed.

How wonderful to hear the baby news...Chris did sperm bank....but it is so nice to hear the success stories......hopefully someday I can spoil a grandchild.......good luck with everything........Mary Ellen (and like you, I worry so much about everything, bloodwork, cat scans, chest x-rays)...nice to know I am not alone..............

I believe you can begin to breath easy. Our diagnosis is almost 3 years ago and the chances of recurrance at this point are so small the even I don't worry (too much).

Great news on the baby!!!!!!!!!!
Been a lot of baby news around here in the last couple weeks got to love that
As for the scans the doctor always tells me to let him worry about things well easy for him to say but the more time that passes the easier it will all be. Just remember fear keeps us in check makes us go back for those visits just to show cancer we kicked it butt!!!!!!!!!

Congratulations!!
Most non-seminoma recurrences occur in the first two years, so although continued follow-up is necessary, the odds that it will find anything are pretty low after three years. It's definitely normal to ease up on the frequency of CT scans.

That is great news!! I am so happy for you. I must say it gives me hope since there was no banking on our end either. My husband did have a bi-lateral RPLND, but he is showing signs of fluid and may not have retro-grade. So maybe there is a chance. Thanks for sharing with us and let us know if you need any help with baby names

a little update on us! and some Questions!
We found out last week we will be adding another little girl to our family. We are beyond thrilled as we were told the chance of us having another one were slim. There is still hope for those of you who are wanting another kiddo. Eric did 3 rounds of Chemo and we never banked sperm so it was done all natural
Eric is going in to have his set of scans done in a couple weeks. I can not help but get nervous and scared all at the same time. He has been doing all the normal bloodwork and checkups and self checks, but the fear is still there... Will it ever go away? It will be 3 years since diagonise in August, but yet I am still scared. Also.. they said that this will be his last CT scan that is done every 3 months and it will go every 6months-1year. How am I suppose to not freak during that long time? Is this normal?Tags: None
