  • TC-Savvy Urologist in DFW Needed

    Hi,

I need some recommendations for a friend who may be dealing with a TC issue. I'm looking for a Urologist who really knows his/her stuff about TC.

    Any recommendations or resources?

    Thanks,

    Glenn

What I have found is its a catch 22 with finding a surgeon, you can get one who performs 15-20+ operations per week but wont tell you anything like post-operative care or risks or anything at all really without you asking a question 1st. Or you can find one who might only perform 5 operations per week but will go into detail about what to expect whats going to happen, and what not to do after the operation. Diagnosis is nothing any urologist will do its really the radiologist who diagnoses it anyway.
Then theres do you go for an older surgeon(experience vs possible jadedness) or a young surgeon(med school fresh in there head vs not as experienced).

If you really want to try find a urologist who knows his stuff, call up each hospitals urology department and ask if there is a urologist there that _thinks_(nothing is certain) he _might_ be able to do a radicial orchiectomy without dissecting the inguinal nerve. I think if you can find one who can manage that, then youve met your goal.

Thanks guys! This friend is post-orch but isn't sure his doc is on top of things. It's a week after his surgery and he's had no chest x-ray, no CT scan and hasn't gotten results for tumor markers or the pathology.
