Does anyone have links to published articles addressing long term side effects of platinum based chemo? I'm specifically interested in reading studies of the cardio-vascular system, including a stats on elevated Blood Pressure in post chemo germ cell patients.

Here's some general info on long term care. It's a good place to startSon Jason diagnosed 4/30/04, stage III. Right I/O 4/30/04. Graduated College 5/13/04. 4XEP 6/7/04 - 8/13/04. Full open RPLND 10/13/04. All Clear since.
Treated by Dr. Rakowski of Midland Park, NJ. Visited Sloan Kettering for protocol advice. RPLND done at Sloan Kettering. -

I was on the blood pressure medicine Diovan for two years leading up to my chemotherapy and RPLND. Following my RPLND I noticed my blood pressure was dropping to 90/50 in the evening while on the meds. I stopped the meds and my blood pressure normalized and has been normal 120/75 ever since without meds. Either the chemo and/or the RPLND has to be responsible.
