You should be very proud. It takes a lot of balls to take care of someone dying of cancer, no pun intended. He is a very brave guy to look it right in the face for someone he loves.

I am at work again...Russell called, he is home but is having sub-sternal chest pain and has had a cough. This could be what returning Bleo Toxicty might look like. For once I hope it is the extreme residual of grief and stress. I am not feeling so strong. Not many people understand...I am writing to release some of the feelings. There are not too many places to turn these days. I feel like my hand is held when I am writing here. Thank goodness his CT is tomorrow. Russell's Mom, Sharon I'm really scared!

Dear Sharon,
Hang in there. The stress prior to CT can be overwhelming. You've already shown that you are strong. If you feel the need to have a good cry then do so. Being the mother of a precious son with TC you're entitled to let out the emotions anytime you want. This forum is a great place to do that.
Hoping and praying that you'll get good results promptly, Lynne.
I think you're much stronger than you're feeling right now, and it certainly appears you've passed that strength on to Russell. My thoughts and prayers are with you both.

Tho' much is taken, much abides; and though we are not now that strength which in old days moved earth and heaven; that which we are, we are; one equal temper of heroic hearts, made weak by time and fate, but strong in will; to strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield.
Sharon:
I think all of us here understand how exhausting being stong is. We have no option other then to keep on keepin on. Whatever positive vibes I have today are all for you.
Much Love and Peace

Well, they did contrast CTs of abd, chest pelvis and high resolution chest for the Bleo Tox. The very good news is that the Lungs look improved in regard to the fibrosis. There is scarring however. That is expected to stay unchanged for his lifetime. I have to say here that the Bleomycin is more of a conern to me than the return of cancer. If the fibrosis returns, there are no treatments. Well, lung transplant I suppose. The residual lung lesion from the cancer is unchanged. I had hoped it would decrease in size. have to hope that it is not Teratoma. We will wait to hear from the oncologist for the abd and pelvis results. In regard to his grandmother. Today I told Russell that I am done as Mom. That is to say I now know he is capable to the farthest degree. Of course I will be still involved and help put the train back on the track once in a while.... So for now, good night, it has been a pretty long day. So glad you are all out there!! Take care, Russell's Mom, Sharon

Sharon:
More often then not I think the survivors are far stronger then the co-survivors. Russell can certainly take care of himself and he has the comfort of knowing that no matter what you will be there.
