I would get that T level checked. Don't make the mistake of thinking that low testosterone will make you placid, if anything it willcreated mood swings that will make you more irritable.Son Jason diagnosed 4/30/04, stage III. im two months down the line and have felt very tired, find it dificult to make long term plans and i find i have very little motivation at work. I also got drunk once and was a bit of a loud ass apparently - first time i ever had a blackout from alcahol. At the same time my libido is fine and i still shave as per normal so i dont think its a hormone thing. I reckon its just a lot to take in and give it a bit of time and itll sort itself out.

Next time you get blood drawn just ask them to check your T levels, it's not a big deal and it isn't a bad idea to have a baseline number.Son Jason diagnosed 4/30/04, stage III. Right I/O 4/30/04. Graduated College 5/13/04. 4XEP 6/7/04 - 8/13/04. Full open RPLND 10/13/04. All Clear since.

Hang in there, Keefe. I know it's hard to keep the emotions at bay when all you want is some peace and quiet during a time so turbulent while you deal with the whirlwind of cancer in your life. And besides, unless you're nocturnal and absolutely love music at any given time of day, no one wants to be stirred out of bed by noisy neighbors at 2AM. Do get checked for your levels, but I'm of the mindset that you probably just needed to unleash a wee bit of pent-up energy from everything you've been through. It just so happened to be a can of whoop-a$$ on your neighbor!
And Donnie, what's this about a blackout from alcohol? An Irishman unable to handle his liquor??? I've never heard of such a thingAll kidding aside, I do believe you're right in that this is a lot to take in. All in due time.

Hi Guys finally got the results of my T test back doesnt look good to me
results where
testosterone =9.1nmol(8.0 - 30.0)
prolactin =225mu/l(50 - 560)
LH =6.9u/l(1.5 - 9.3)
FSH =23.3u/l(1.4 - 18.1)
my testo level seem very close to the bottom limit of 8.0 at a value of 9.1nmol
and my FSH is high at 23.3u/l
so think i`d better get an appointment with my urologist but think i might be starting the long battle to get hormone replacement therapy which by all accounts a lot of you guys have had problems getting o well `ill let you know what happens but i think it will be a fairly negative reaction from my urologist
but if i need it i will get it cause i`ve got a stubborn streak a million light years wide hehe on a different note anybody know how to convert my readings into american values?
cheers guys
Keefe

hey Keefe:
Those results definitely warrant more followup.
Testosterone normally provides "feedback inhibition" to shut off both FSH and LH secretion. It looks like there could be insufficient feedback (ie, not enough testosterone) to control FSH secretion.
It's quite possible that before the surgery your T was near the upper end of the range and your body doesn't like the lower level, even though it is still in the "normal" range.
My argument to the urologist would be, "look, my FSH is high and I don't feel like myself, let's try HRT and let's see if it comes down into the normal range and if I feel better".
Best of luckFish

Hi seen my urologist today told him of my concern`s with my tesosterone level
he admitted it was low said it might be from the chemo and that the best thing to do was give it a month or two and have another testo check to see if my levels have gone up or down or stayed the same he said if it doesn`t improve i can have HRT which is a relief so i`ll give it as long as i can give it before i get retested but i feel really horrible at the moment really tired, groogy head which usually turns into a headache plus very poor memory basically feel like i have a hangover with out having the fun from the night before

Sorry to hear you're still not feeling well, but at least it sounds like your doctor will get you on HRT if things don't improve.
Hang in there. I would ask for the retest as soon as 4 weeks are up.
Best wishes.Fish
