  • How embarassing is this!!

As a refresher, Russell made appointments X 2 with his concern for testiclular lump, finally returning, he was sent three weeks later to see the urologist. And opps....we missed again. No tumor markers, no ultrasound, out the door with a diagnosis of spermatocyle. He was told it was cystic and that he could expect it to grow. A year later, guess what...back pain, seen again, sent home, seen again, sent home and finally over a year later...advanced mets was diagnosed after I took him to the emergency room with severe pain. Well, I made a little complaint to the California Medical Board and guess what. No problem with them...they reviewed the case and see no need for further investigation...case closed!!!!! I hope that the Watergate that must be occurring in healthcare is discovered soon. I best stop typing before my words become destructive!!! Russell is well, he reminds me that he is not is chemo today, he is the smile on my face. (last year at this time we struggled through round three of four) Take care, Sharon

    Wow... un-frickin-believable...

Did they issue any findings whatsoever or did they just shut it as if it wasn't there?

They don't care. It isn't thier loved one that suffered because of it. It isn't their loved one that had to have more treatment because of it. It isnt their loved one that is at higher risk in the future because of it.

This just makes me more in favor of lawsuits in these cases.

I say, sue the bastards .. sorry, but what I have seen TC to do my son, and others, because of mis-diagnoses which is all too common with TC, makes my blood boil ..

They dont care? Make them care.

At the very least, I think the media might like to hear about this. If I were patients seeing the clown or clowns that dismissed Russell, I'd like to know what to "Beware" of. They might like to know about the "Powers that be" that seem to believe "No harm, no foul" as well. F&^%$#@ BULL$^&@!!!!!!

Excellent idea, Mark .. Something absolutely needs to be done about it. I'm sick to my stomach of it all, and I wonder how some of these people sleep at night.

              Case Closed ?

Hi Sharon, maybe Michael Moore of "sicko fame" would be interested in doing a sequel on the medical screw ups that are covered up or ignored to protect them from malpractice suits. I didnt see the movie but I heard its an eye opener on the health care system.

This is such an odd mixture of emotions. I want to surpass what Russell calls my Viking Mother Mode and let loose. I am afraid that the volcano inside of me will erupt and become harmful. I realize that no amount of destruction on my part will help Russell or anyone else. I used to pray for a vacation in a tropical environment........that seems to get farther and farther away...now I pray that that for whatever keeps being placed front of me.... please let me hit a bullseye! The irony of it all is that the same people who choose not to see are also blind to the fact that in one way or another they will also have a turn in the horizontal position eventually...one way or another. I would think that if not for anything else, the over-indulged ego would respond, if not for anything else, but for self preservation. Very curious situation. Thanks so much for being there....have been quite busy, the nurses at the hospital where I work have been on strike...working two jobs these days. As before, it is worth every minute and would do it all again if needed!!! Hopefully something positive will come from these efforts in order to save someone else this horror. As for Russell and I...we are just getting stronger!!!!!!!! Sharon
