  • Have a question. Need help

I'm a newbie and wasn't sure where to post so I'm putting here cause I'm a 2 year survivor who had a non-seminoma stage II so that meant an orchiectomy and a lymph node disection and some chemo.

Now it's 2 years with good CT scans and no tumor markers but there's a lump where my left testicle used to be and it's painful. It wasn't there a week ago and it's significant now. It's about 1/2 the size of what my original teste was.

I called my oncologist and they told me to see my urologist but the first opening to see him is 1/23. I'm starting to go crazy wondering what this is and it's sensitive so every time my child is near me I'm afraid she'll accidentally hit me there.

Anyone have any idea of what this is? I figure it must not be a new or re-occurance of cancer as the scans and tumor markers show I'm good. Any insight would be helpful. Thank you!

Wraith--please don't start worrying that it's a recurrence until you see the doctor. There's no need to heap added stress on yourself; however, I would definitely call back your urologist's office and stress to whomever you speak that you are a cancer patient and you have a growth which is causing you pain. Since you are an established patient, they should make room for you, especially with your history and the fact that this new problem is causing you pain. Good luck!

It's quite possible that what you have is a hernia. Get it checked but I doubt that you have had a recurrance.

Thanks for the reply. I doubt I have a recurrance either but I was worried as I had no idea what I do have. I'm more at ease now even though I have a month to wait before I even get to see my urologist.

Guess that means I'll have another surgery. Unfortunately it's lefty I lost and I drive a stick with a ACT clutch with a heavy duty pressure plate. I won't be able to drive for a month if the surgery is anything similar to an orchiectomy.

No matter what happens don't give up the stick shift. Yes the operation is almost the same as the orchectomity but the heck with that, quiting a stick shift!! no way man. Hang tough and keep grinding those gears, at least only the high spots.
