  • lost both testicles ... experience with testosterone replacement?

    Hi to all,
I am 30 and have just lost both testicles, Seminoma in both cases. I started to use Sustanon, had first injection 2 weeks ago but feel kind of strange, "crazy", get "waves of heat/warmth running through my body and head". Is this normal in the beginning? Will my body get used to the replacement and will I feel and function the same way I did before cancer? What about the sex life, will that worsen? Thank for sharing your experiences, I am new to this forum.

    Hi Kode:

I've also had both testicles removed and I been on a topical gel testosterone for 2.5 years. Sometimes I feel great other times I get the hot flashes you're describing or I get really moody.

Hormone replacement is not, in my opinion, as easy as it looks in the textbooks. From reading this forum, I've noted a wide variety of reactions form different guys to different forms of hormone replacement. Sometimes it takes a bit of trial and error to det the dosage correct. I would talk with your doctor about your symptoms. You may need to vary the dosage.

If your hormone replacement is adjusted properly, all your equipment should work

    Best of luck,

i agree with fish. it will take a little while to get everything adjusted close to normal or better than normal. if like myself it has been better than normal because for a couple of years i had seen decrease in energy levels. i havent experienced any sexual disfunctions other than maybe some decrease in size. i was doing ethanate injections and those were okay but alot of peeks and valleys. mostly valleys. i switched to androgel a month ago and man what a difference. constant energy and no mood swings at all. its been a true blessing for me and my wife!!! just try and see whats the best for you. it may take several months to get it in line but you will! best of luck and hang in there, brian!

Thank you for your replys. I would like to ask one more question ... what about the implants, did you decide for them? If yes, how does it feel? Thanks.

last week my urologist told me about a new implant that will be coming out in trial in a few months. it will be a 6 month implant under the arm. he said there is so much going on in the fields of research for HRT that we will be seeing many new things in the months and years to come! he was gonna check into it with more details and see if he thought i should try it. i told him i didnt want to go backwards by any means. he said they would give me three years free HRT if it was something that turned out to work for me. i could quit at anytime i wanted if not working. i dont know if i will or not.

You might want to look out for trials of a spray Huck.
I had implants for a number of years. It's not normally as convenient as it sounds.

                best wishes,

                    Hi Kode,

I am very much in your same situation and have your same age. I have been using Nebido for the last four months, and I have to say that this seems to be a great option. I first started injecting it on one month intervals, but I have now started to postpone the time for the next injection to one or two more weeks, depending on how I am feeling. The good thing about it compare to the gels is that you do not have to worry about it every day and is less of a hassle when going swimming or the gym. With regard to silicone implants, I would definitely recommend then, in my opinion they can help a lot from a psychological perspective.

My husband is on Androgel, 10mgs daily. It took awhile for his endocronologist to get him to this level as they started out with a much lower dose and eventually worked up to the 10 mg. While he was on 5mgs he would get hot flashes etc. That's because the dose was too small. 7.5 was better but not perfect. Now on the 10 mgs he feels like a bull and I have to run in the other direction! He really is impressed with the med and would recommend it to anyone. Very easy to apply and virtually no side effects. ONLY slight problems such as it takes a few minutes to dry and you cant swim for a few hours. Compared to what you would go through with out it though, these are very small problems. You might want to check into it.

It seems that Androgel is a good option, my doctor sais that it would be nice for his patiens including me to use it but the problem is that it is not available in my region(Central Europe). Does anybody know whether it is available in other part of Europe, for example Germany? Otherwise, I have to stay with Sustanon or some pills

Concerning the prothesis, I am going to get the silicon ones as it seems as the only option.

I have to agree with others above. Leave the "fake ones" alone

My wife does not care (she was just a girlfriend when I was diagnosed).

I just started Androgel 2.5mg today, so I will let you know what happens, good luck on finding a source for it.

                              Hi Kode,

You should be able to obtain gel in any EEC country.

I know for certain Germany and France are among them.

                              best wishes,
