  • What is the definition of an Atrophic Testicle?

I know that a "small" testicle is <3.5 ml in length. Mine is quite a bit shorter then that already but I'm confused. At the Sonogram they told me normal. But 26% smaller then the last time I was sonogramed. Is "atrophic" meant to discribe the size or the speed of shrinkage. Assuming shrinkage is a word.

Any doctor types out there who can spell that out for me? I'm curious.

If it is normal then I wouldn't worry it might have been larger due to infection, injury or who knows what. It could be the tech made an error the first time or where they measured may not be the same you are talking mm so it is very easy to have a still that they measured not be the same on the same day on another still. If they say it is OK then I think you can be happy. If you are still worried then a trip to the URO should be in order to get the doctor opinion.

I ended up seeing the URO. Androgel is causing Atrophy and I've been bothered by the size reduction. I had an ultrasound done and then another 3 months later to see how fast its shrinking. I was a bit surprised that you could see a fairly large percentage change. I've got hypogonadism now, and not getting any testosterone (other then from the Androgel) my Family doctor said she thought maybe I should consider cosmetic surgery (an implant) if it bothered me. My initial reaction was to jump out her window running but I'm also having some chronic pains there so... Long story short I've tried a few things and no luck so far. The URO and I are talking about Silimed or Mentor right now. I found this site as it seems this is one of the few places where anyone knows about them. Anyway, thanks for the info.

You need to take hCG along with TRT to prevent atrophy, urologists and most endocrinologists dont know this.

I brought it up with my MD she said its not tested for long term use and thus she deems it unsafe. I asked a urologist he said that nothing longer then a 6 month run it could fry my brain. I asked another doctor same reply and one last urologist he actually suggested it. I told him what the other doctors said about it not being safe and that it might fry my brain. He said "yes, thats probably true. So, do you want to try it?"

              None for me thanks!

You should of asked for the article in which they read that, it sounds as if that last urologist was just agreeing for the hell of it to not sound like a black sheep.
But it would be interesting to know where they heard this from, because that means any women who has been pregnant must have a fried brain lol
