  • Cold Feet (Not the marriage Kind.)

    Hi,

I am 37 and do not have TC. I have recently started TRT and have been following these threads for several months. There is so much excellent information and advice here.

I was diagnosed with low T of 192. I was having a lot of the symptoms listed here. Tired by 2 PM, hip/back ache, prostate ache, premature ejac, soft wood, no morning wood, no patience, brain fog, pressure in ears, ANXIETY!!!

I started with 5.0 g Androgel about 3 months ago. I was feeling great for the first couple weeks but now I've leveled off. Everything is much better except for the wood, brain fog (Sporadically good). I feel there is still a lot of room for improvement. I have had some great days in there but not consistently.

About 1 month into it I was like majorly depressed and suicidal thoughts.(not serious to go through with it but the ideas were there) I went and got my Estrogen and T tested. T =580 E=48. I know the E is high. T is ??? I seem to have gotten through that without changing anything. Whew???

I have a couple of issues with the M.D. about the way this handled. Basically, "You have low T. Slap some testosterone on it." I have learned tremendously since then. I am going to see both a TRT Urologist (Claims to have interest in TRT) and an endo this month to see if it's Primary/Sec etc. I have a medium left varicocele, small cyst and small right varicocele, slight left hernia and right testicle ache sometimes. I am going to the uro to get this looked into as the source of the T problems.

What are the Symptoms of too much E? Other than fat & Breast.
    Symptoms of too much T?

Presently I still have Sporadic wood, some great days (alert and on the ball)
cold feet sometimes. My chest and face get beet red during the day. Big time testicular atrophy (1/2 size and squishy).

I take the gel at 7:30 am. I can feel the effects by 9:30 am. High libido by 12:00. Overall feel best from 5:00 pm till bed (Calm & Alert).

I am hoping some corrective surgery will take care of this completely but in the meantime I am pursuing these alternatives in case he says it's not the problem.

I am leaning towards trying to supplement with HCG 250 every third day(I know I have to determine type of Hypogonadism first) I am basing this on the fact of how much atrophy has happened that the HPTA was intact. I think this will get the testicles back online for the atrophy, pituitary secretions(Well being), and supplement the T the gel is giveng me to get just a little higher T. I am not sure how to regulate the E. I can't just go for blood work all the time.

Is there a way to stimulate the HPTA?? Is that what the anti-E drugs do?
Why use the gel in the A.M. vs. PM. Natural cyle T is highest by A.M.
At 5.0g would this be low enough to not supress night time production?

Thank you for all you have taught me so far.

Let me know what you think.

Any feedback on Dr. Crisler's program?? Actual Patients here??

Do you know what your level of LH, FSH, and Free Testosterone were?

These would all be very helpfull to fine-tune your treatment program. Your estrogen should be <20. I would ask my physician to prescribe 1 mg Arimidex every other day. You should feel better fairly quickly when your estrogen gets down to <20, because that is negating much of the benefit of the testosterone. Total T of 580 is good but in my opinion 750-950 is even more beneficial. Again, if you havent done so already see what your LH, FSH, and ratio of total-to-free testosterone are.
    take care-Stitch

      Thanks for your reply.

Unfortunately I don't have those numbers. That was the beef I had with the MD. He just prescribed the T gel without any of those other numbers.

How drastic are the changes you can see and feel with the lower Estrogen levels. What would you expect to improve? How do you know when you've lowered it too far? I know estrogen plays a crucial role. Not enough and other bad stuff happens.

          My estrogen was elevated also,

1 mg Arimidex every other day got it to 18-19, so if I were you I wouldn't be too concerned about my estrogen getting too low but if it gets maybe <10 or so possibly the Arimidex should be taken every 3rd day. Arimidex only comes in 1mg tablets and they are too small to score and break in half. The blood work monitoring can be expensive depending on your insurance but it has to be done from time to time. When I started on Arimidex, I felt quite a bit better in about 2-3 weeks if I remember right.

You should notice a marked improvement in your mental ability and sex drive/performance, and you should also feel the way you did when you 1st started testosterone, by lowering estradiol you bump up testosterone anything below 650 isnt considered acceptable.

I have been getting gyno even on Andriol. Cant wait to get my E2 down one way or another I am asuming I will be starting nolvadex or arimidex soon but hopefully not fore life as I reckon I could lost about 40lbs, I want to get to 12% bodyfat or maybe 14% winter, 10% summer, the lower body fat you have the lower estrogens you have.

I wish this were true! I have about 8 - 10% body fat and my total estrogens are @ 130pg/ml.

                How old are you?
                What is your SHBG?

I never knew it was that high, If I were you I would goto injections, start ZMA, milk thistle and Indoplex DIM asap.
