  • Do I need HRT??

I had stage 1 Non-Seminoma Cancer just over 7 years ago.Im 37 now.I was treated with 2 cycles of Chemo. My Doctor never required me to take a Testosterone test until I mentioned it to him just over a year ago.It was around 230.He told me that it was fine.I know he's a Cancer Doctor and they only care about the cancer part.My Anxiety and depression have increased dramatically since.I only got the 1 test and I was wondering if that 1 test can confirm my low Testosterone defficientcy??I know there are about 5 other tests to measure Testosterone.Im not worried about the Cancer so much anymore as opposed to Heart problems,Osteoarthritis,Anxiety,Depression,Diabete s,fatigue, weight control.I don't know if anyone knows the percentage's of guys that have had TC and have had much lower Testosterone??

200's is very low without a doubt. The figures are I think 1 in 5 need TRT but I am guessing its really something like 1 in 2.
    Aged 23 ;; 09/06 left I/O ;; Markers normal ;; 100% Seminoma Stage 1. ;; 10x8x16mm & 7x7x8mm ;; rete testis invasion. ;; no vascular invasion. ;; surveillance. ;; HRT.

I was 35 when that test was done but since having TC I only had that 1 Total Testosterone test which my Doctor said was fine.I wonder if the positive's outweigh the negatives with TRT.I have read that having real low Testosterone can cause major Health problems from Heart disease to Osteoporosis among other things. The problem is what Doctor to go to that understands the negative's of having low Testosterone at my age

The benefits do outweigh the negatives, your best bet would be an anti aging clinic or even better would be seeing Dr. John at www.allthingsmale.com.

Huh? I really don't get your Doctor.
230 is low even using the old standards. Tiredness, anxiety, mental fog, loss of sex drive all SCREAM low Testosterone. Get a different MD if this guy/lady doesn't budge. You might want to print out the AACE (2002) guidelines and the age vrs average Testosterone chart and talk it over with the doctor. Also there is a good book you might want to check out called "The Testosterone Syndrome"
