i read a little on neuropathy and i'm waiting for my next onc visit (next week) to ask more questions but has anyone expierenced slight feeling of being off balance at times or like when you focus on something for a period of time it may make you a little dizzy. i dont know if any of this is cancer or treatment related it maybe sinus or something but i was just curious. it seems to have started just in the last month or so and has been going on now since. thanks, brian

Neuropathy can effet balance and coordination in your arms and legs. Cisplatin can cause the destruction of the nerve cells that are responsible for proprioception (knowing where you are in space-like a 6th sense). This will cause you to feel unbalanced and may make you feel a bit uncoordinated. I have these problems as well as numbness in my hands and legs as wells as tingling when I stretch my arms and legs. Loss of balance is a common problem with neuropahy caused by cisplatin.

    Hope that helps.
