My understanding is that radiation is usually a one time shot. Check the NCCN guidelines for testicular cancer.

They indicate that recurrence after radiation is treated by chemo. Radiation seems to have the potential to cause a lot more "mischeif" than chemo when you're subjected to multiple courses of therapy.

I would think that having the RPLND surgery would also be very affective in the case that you had a reoccurrence involving a lymph-node.....

    question on re-occurence

thought.......if by any small chance, I have a re-occurence, why was my only option to have chemo? i only had radiation treatment for a lymph node and if lymph node involvement happens again why wouldnt they do radiation again? just curious!!!
