My husband was talking to someone today who knew someone who had the RPLND surgery and needed to be on a special no (or maybe low) fat diet after because he ballooned out to 300+ pounds. Has anyone heard of anything like this? The surgeon didn't say anything about any special diet to us.

Special Diet after RPLND?

I don't know about ballooning to 300 pounds, but I know from personal experience about ballooning from chylous ascites, collection of lymphatic fluid in the abdomen. The low-fat diet helps keep fluid production down and makes it a little easier for the system to heal. It's definitely a good idea for anybody having RPLND surgery.Scott, [email protected]
