Done with 2 cycle wondering about 3rd cycle?

my 3rd was easier than the 2nd...plus I knew the end was near...

I'm back to light execise, golf with my 10 year old last weekend...as soon as they stop the meds, you'll feel better fast...

Sam, I've got to say that, strangely enough, my third dose of chemo was the easiest of the lot. I think this was because my doctors were able to give me effective medicine to stop the constipation/oral thrush before it started. I also concentrated very hard on drinking as much fluid as possible, especially during the Cisplatin, so that the side-effects were not as acute. Another big thing about the third dose is that you mentally feel great for doing everything for the 'last time', which helps you to focus more on getting over the physical side-effects.

You can do it! Just keep thinking it will all be over soon enough and you'll be moving on with your life and hopefully sharing your words of encouragement here for anyone new! My husband went through 4 X EP and had a rough time, but he MADE IT and feels fantastic today, only a few short months after the last cycle. Hang tough.

Sam, my son Chris had four rounds of chemo, and the third was the hardest. He just was sick of the whole thing.....so mentally it was rough. He was lucky, never had neuropathy or ringing in the ears, but being stuck over and over with a needle was enough....he had nausea and the metal tasting mouth, but we constantly had him drinking to flush it all out...but here is the good part....that was last year at this time....no hair, no eyebrows, pale, and thin...and now Chris is up at college, finishing exams, playing with a new band and touring this summer, happy and looking like he was never sick...so that is what you have to keep your eye on and just finish it up......hope that helps.....Mary Ellen

I hate to say it, because I am sure that you have already heard it, but it is to each their own. Some people blow through this thing like it is nothing and some just have to deal with never ending side affects. The third cycle for me was the worst of them all, and I don't say that to scare you, but that was the point that my body had enough, so I constantly tasted metal no matter what I did. I got ringing in my ears, which after 3 weeks is still there, and I finally threw up, as I was able to keep it down the rest of the time. The hardest part was to try to keep eating, and drinking water. My wife was constantly harping to drink more, drink more, but I just couldn't force myself to do it, and I think that is why I suffered some of these side affects. The good news is though that you are almost done, and it's three weeks since I finished, and my hair is starting to come back in, and my energy level is starting to come back as well. So my advice is to keep drinking no matter what because if I did it again that is the one thing that I would over do if I could, and keep your head up because your on your way to being cured. Like I had to keep telling my mother, this is a necessary evil, without my future is pretty bleak. So congrats on almost being done and good luck.

Good luck with the 3rd cycle at least it should be all over soon. Really hope it goes ok for you, theres light at the end of the tunnel.
I start soon on 3 cycles are there any good sites with almost like a diary blog of someone whos been through it? as it will be my first.

Doing 3XBEP

I'm just wondering if the 3rd cycle is worst then the 2nd cycle. My first cycle went all right. Then my second was almost the complete opposite. Just tring to get a heads before I start it on Monday. Any imput would help.
