  • New CT baseline

Had my first post-lung surgery CT today, everything went smoothly. Back on surveillance. Dr. Einhorn faxed their pathology opinion on the resected mass, and they agreed it was mature teratoma.

Interesting to read the original pathology report. The wedge they took out was 6 x 5 x 2.5 cm, although the pass itself was 1.2 x 1.0 x 0.9 cm. They don't take any chances with this stuff. What would have been interesting to see is how they got the wedge out, considering the thoracscopy ports were only abut 3 cm long.

I made a new hat for the occassion (couldn't find one of those novelty "beer can hats" on short notice, so I redneck-rigged it). I guess to truly be redneck I would used duck tape instead of painters mask. Oh well.

I'm going to have to make one of those. This summer we plan on having a "white trash" party and that will work great. It should look wonderful with my cut off farmer jeans and flannel shirt with no sleeves.

Yeah, it kind reminds me of a joke from some sitcom many years back (maybe "Friends"). It goes something like this, two guys are getting ready to go out:

"Hey, what do you think goes with these overalls?"

"I don't know, but I can tell you what doesn't go with them: money and chicks."

        Vinny:
Is your avatar the guy they used in the movie airport?

            Surely you can't be serious?

            I am serious...and don't call me Shirley.

Actually, the movie in question is Airplane! (Airport is one of those 70s melodramas about a plane in danger, no gags in that movie).

But yes, it was one of those send-in-a-proof-of-purchase-and-five-bucks offers on the back of the new DVD release. I was a bit disappointed by it's size -- it's only about 14" tall and no movable parts -- but that's the way those mail order things are. Size DOES matter!

Still, it does have the "oral inflation hose" in the correct place and I did send in this pic to an aviation e-zine and managed to win a free hat. I think "Otto" will wind up in our flying club hangar as our mascot.

With the right outfit he could be your vinny me. You could use one of your dog implants to complete the look.
