Sharp Pain. Post Orchiectomy, Pre Chemo

Hi Y'all. I'm 19 years old, diagnosed late September, operated on during October, and about to start BEP x 3 next Monday. Stage 1S.
Yesterday I felt a sharp pain in my groin/abdomen area. The pain feels like when you hold in your pee for a really long time and it needs to come out. Except, it persists long after urinating. Have any of you felt this pain? Should I tell my doctor for some pain meds? It hurts really bad. thanks

The only pain I had was at the incision site. Call your urologist ASAP just to be the the safe side.

I had my Orchiectomy about 11 days ago and haven't had any pain like that. Just general soreness, especially when first standing up. I was given a prescription for 30 Vicodin (5mg/325mg) after surgery and instructed to take 2 every 6 hours as needed, but that's way too much IMO. I took one when needed and have 22 pills left.

Hi Guys--

I'm about two weeks removed from my right I/O (just started EP x 4 yesterday). I'm still sore in my right lower abdomen; every once in a while I'll turn in a certain way and get a shooting pain. I'm guessing that the physical recovery takes a little time. Did anyone experience similar pains, and if so, when did they go away? BTW, I do have Vicodin, but I stopped on 11/1 because the pain was manageable. It still is; there are just the general soreness and those occasional "twangs."

rversaci, I haven't gotten any strong shooting pains. But every once in a while I will get a tiny pinch that goes away quickly.

I don't know if that has to do with my Orchiectomy or not since I often fell pinches as if a bug is biting me on my feet and legs.

I'm curious about your situation, I am new to this whole thing so I don't know much about it. What happened with you, you found cancer in your abdomen 10 years ago and then you found it in your testicle recently?

Yeah, my first bout with cancer was an extragonadal germ cell tumor (didn't present in the testicles; presented in the retroperitoneal area). It was choriocarcinoma. No surgery, just chemo (BEP x 3). It worked great; I had 10 years of clean CT scans and blood tests. Then, last month, I went in for my annual visit, and my blood showed elevated levels of HCG and AFP (10 years ago, I only had elevated HCG). CT scan showed a cluster of growths in the same place as last time, and a testicular ultrasound showed a growth down there. Since a ten-year relapse of what I had before is unheard of and because I had a new primary site, my doctor suspected that this was something new. The biopsy on my right testicle and on the samples they drew from the retroperitoneal growth confirmed that these were different types of cells--terratoma and embryonal. Like chorio, these are nonseminomous tumors, but they're different types. So it's not considered a recurrence; I just hit the cancer lottery twice. Bad luck, sure, but good luck in that the prognosis in both cases is good.

Mine is pretty simple.

I had testicular pain about 5 weeks ago which they found a mass. 2 weeks ago I had my IO. Today I went to see the urologist who said the bloodwork and CAT Scan are good and there is no signs of spread. It was embryonal cancer in the testicle.
