I believe and hope that you're fine, but if you should have a second cancer, I also believe that you can handle it.

well it just hurts kinda ( like an uncomfortable feeling) and i can swear it has gotten bigger and those same 2 things are EXACTLY what I felt with the other one, and we all know what happened to that one

Atleast I know they did everything right.

I just hope this one doesn't have cancer too, I cannot lose this one I don't think I could live without it. Losing one was horrible, I don't know what I would do if I lost them both.

I had a follow up a few weeks ago and everything was fine. I will make an appoitment though.

    I hate this.

I finished my radiation treatment a month ago. What you describe is similar to where they did mine. I have a nice little bald spot on my stomach (probably on my back too, but let's not go there ).

My radiation oncologist explained to me that in the past they did a larger area including down to the groin, but have now found that they can get the same effectiveness with a smaller area that avoids the major organs - kidneys, liver, bladder, prostate, etc. That way, if in the future you ever have any problems with these (heaven forbid), you could have radiation treatments for those organs.

You mentioned you think you have it in your remaining one - is there a lump or something? I hope you are going to get it checked out soon. The statistics show that it is probably not TC, but you need to take care of yourself.

    aliasarchangel -

your treatment plan sounds absolutely right. i had the exact same diagnosis and treatment last summer. as for concerns in the other testicle, it is highly unlikely that you would get a recurrence there, but you should talk with your doctor if there are any concerns or questions. hopefully, you are keeping up with your follow-up appointments since those are important and the right time to ask questions if something does not feel right.

radiation treatment would not cause you to have a recurrence in the other testicle.

Look the changes of getting the cancer back by "statistics" with radiation in Stage I seminoma is between 1-2%, and not on the other testicle, you have a slightly higher risk of developing cancer on the other testicle because you already have the history of cancer (compare to everyone else) but that's it.

My Fiancé got Radiation on his stomach and groin area.... all the way; I know that they even used a heavy thing to cover the other testicle... He was a Stage Ia Seminoma, just ask your Doctor, to make sure, but I know is the stomach and groin area. Don't worry!

I would only ASSUME that if you didn't have because you didn't have spread to areas of the groin which would be the tissue surrounding the testical than they wouldn't have treated that area. Since the lymph nodes behind the stomach(retroperitineal area) are the first area for spread to occur thats why you had treatments through the gut! Did you have the other testical scanned with your first diagnoses? The % are very low that you will have cancer in the other testical.

started a topic Did they do radiation right?

    Did they do radiation right?

Ok so I had semenoma or something like that stage 1, I finished radiation maybe a month or 2 ago.

THey only did the treatments on my stomach, was that the only spot they were suppose to do? because I thought they were suppose to do like the groin area or something.

I so hope they did it right, because I think I have it again in the other testicle, and if they didn't do it right then that increases the chances that it really has come back.

And I cannot go thru all of that again.

but anyways were they only suppose to do the stomach?

    thanks
