  • hiccups, how do i stop them?

    Hey,
Just stareted my second and last round of BEP yesterday, not feeling to good but nothing that i can't live through The only extremely bad and anoying thing is the damn hiccups. They started this morning and keep on coming back every 20 - 30 min, so im just wondering if there is anything i can do right now, while at home? I'll talk to the doctor tomorrow about any particular medication.

    Thanks!

This problem has come up several times on the forum. Use the "search" tool and read the posts. They might help you in the meantime. Glad you are doing well through the chemo. It's almost over. Dianne

        chris...

they may prescribe thorazine...I had 10mg and it did not work for me...though it is supposed to work for most...

it may me feel odd so I stopped after a day....

then I found out it is an anti-psychotic drug...also comes in 25 and 50mg doses, which I politely declined...

I eventually went with water with a tablespoon of unfiltered apple cider vinegar for the stomach...works very well...

and also a teaspoon of sugar will often work...see my thread on chemo tips & tricks and someone mentions this remedy there.

        hope this helps.

thanks for all the advice, decided not to take any drugs since it seemed to give some pretty bad side effects. The hiccups stoped after a day or two so turned out to nt be so bad. However the nausea was horrible, had my first proper meal yesterday (basically 3 days "eating" liquid stuff). So im still feeling full from that meal hehe.

Going for my next to last bleo injection tomorrow, makes me sick of just thinking of those nasty bottles but hey, only about 50 minutes left in that hell hole now

I just want to thank all of you on this forum for helping and supporting, it really has ment and will mean a lot!!

          Thanks!
