  • Rplnd

    Hello all,

I was diagnosed with TC back in march barely in stage 2 with just one slighty enlarged lymph node. Luckily i live in Indianapolis so i was able to be treated by some experienced people. I went through 3 rounds of BEP and found out on the followup up CT that the lymph node is a Teratoma. So now i have to have RPLND.

I am scheduled for the 27th with Dr. Bihrle, and i go in tomorrow to talk to him, so does anyone have some suggestions on questions to ask, or has anyone had Dr. Bihlre. Thanks

The Testicular Cancer Resource Center provides a long list of questions for you to choose from about RPLND at this link. A lot of them don't apply, though, to post-chemotherapy RPLND.

      RPLND with Dr. Bihrle

I had my RPLND with Dr. Birhle. He was straight forward and very calming in that he gave me that sense that with his experience I would beat TC. I had one positive lymph node and he seemed prettty pleased that is was only one.

After my surgery I followed up with a phone call with him and discussed options, chemo vs. surveillance. Again, pretty straight shooter and disucussed all the probabalities as to whether they had gotten it all. I asked him what he would do in my case and he gave me his advice and the reasoning behind it.

I really like him and you are in great hands.
