Thanks for checking in. I'm sorry about your cousin but I still have to congratulate you on your continued good health.
Please don't feel guilty about drifting away. Having you move on is simply a sign that our job here is done and you are at a new phase in you life.
    Keep moving forward.

Well Have not updated my thread for year or more and all is well, not seeing the doctor for a year and no more CT scans.

On the bad side as I posted in the quotes my cousin who is now 28 and stage 4 Breast caner for months is not going to make it much longer. I did go and see her last night at home where she will spend her last days as she didn't want to stay in the hospital. It was a great birthday present for me that she made it this long, but she just looked so tired and seemed ready let go, and I don't blame her. I think she is hanging on for her mothers sake as she isn't taking it too well. This will be the 3rd or 4th funeral I will have to go to since I last posted in my thread related to cancer. This is the reason that I have sort of stayed away from posting as much and let others step in, as happens in this type of forum. I just got tired of hearing cancer cancer cancer along with my cousin who was never going win her battle, I just feel guilty and have kept my good news private so as not make other mad that yes I am cured and she will never be.

Just thought I would let everyone know all is well, my 2 year old is a CRAZY monkey of a girl and my wife hasn't killed me yet so that is good I am just going to continue to post in the T forum or where I can help out from time to time and continue to stay in back and let the others with more energy continue to handle the day to day questions.

I just want to thank all of those that have been a great help over the last 3 years, you know who you are so I won't name any names.

    Thank you,
    Brian

    Great,

It will be nice to see an ultrasound that elicits hope and joy rather than fear and anxiety! Congrats and best of luck!

    hey iowabrian...great news...

I think you and I were going thru this at about the same time so I'm glad to hear you are well - so am I - just had 6 month checkup...a ct scan in addition to blood & chest xray and all ok.

I get psyched for each test...put some distance between me and the chemo days...

Same numbers from last month ..Just T was lower down to 1.9 so good news for the most part NO cancer !!! Just have to figure out the T level URO said to come in if it was the same as last month or lower well it is lower but I doubt he will do anything as was his stance before unless it drops to Zero and the plumbing stops working.

Happy dance BHCG less 1 AFP 2 T Level is "LOW" 2.3 (normal 2.8 to 8)per the nurse doctor isn't in until Monday so she doesn't have any answers I will have it sent to URO for them to look at, not like he will do anything anyway but at least he will know what is going on.
Guess that explains my bad moods (dadmo: it isn't because I am a Cubs fan)

    Brian,

Congrats on the all clear and wishes for more of the same!!!! I have a patented "happy-happy-joy dance" I will do for you (and it ain't pretty!!!! )

I'm very sorry about your cousin. Breast cancer is another sucky disease, especially someone so young. TC is scarey, no doubt about it, and any percent of recurrence of any cancer is disturbing. Women have a >12% chance of being diagnosed with breast cancer during their lives and the cure rate is still not high enough. I suspect you are able to help your cousin with the emotional part of this. Never lose hope.

Forgot to post Blood work is clear and CT is clear Happy
Cousin not so lucky she has some type of recurrent breast cancer, hormone reactive and the drugs they had he on made it worse sounds like a uphill battle for her chemo again and more surgery I am sure to remove ovaries 24 years old and getting married in 2 months and no kids yet. She is a little down in the dumps. But they hope to try a new drug to put it back in remission. Makes me feel lucky so far.
