Yeah I'm doing fine. I'm out of the hospital! I get a break in between transplants. I got out after being in for only 2.5 weeks which the doctors were impressed with how quickly I recovered and very little side effects I experienced (the only big one was mouth sores). My AFP dropped from over 600+ to 97.5 as of Wednesday 7-26. So hopefully it has dropped much more! So i'm happy with the result so far. I had a pet scan before the first transplant and it showed a little cancer near my spine (which was still dying due to radiation treatments at that time). Doctor said we won't even bother doing another pet scan in between transplants since I didn't show much cancer on the first one. I also met a fellow close to my age (25) that had a transplant this spring for recurrent testicular cancer and is doing fine now. Hopefully he is cured for good now and I think that as long as my AFP goes down and stays there . . .i will be cured.Diagnosed August 2005
R/O August 2005 AFP 210
4xEP beginning December 2005
End Feb/March 2006 AFP 4.6
April 2006 AFP 22 and rising
Tandem Stem Cell Transplant 7/06 - 9/06
December 07 AFP = 3.3
December 07 CT = Clear!
15+ months remission
