how long were your guys swollen after the orchidectomy? Its been a few days since I had mine and its not red or infected looking but the groin area below the incision is defiantely swollen. thanks for any responses. I have an appointment with my urologist tentatively scheduled for thursday to discuss results of the procedure, x rays cat scans and bloodwork. a little anxious but ive decided to watch the entire first two seasons of the sopranos, do cancer research on the web and start studying calculus in depth again. thanks peace

Not to worry. I had swolleness at and around the incision. Lasts for at least 2 weeks, before it is back to normal. It will still be firm around the incision for few more weeks. Sorry to here about your ordeal. You will be okay. Keep us posted.

yeah... swelling for several days. numbness/hardness around the incisions for awhile(i still have it now)! swelling of the srotum sac for a few days. all normal...........and things will be better soon!diagnosed 01/15/2005 bi-lateral seminoma stage IIa,4cm lymph node, right I/O & partial left I/O mar/2005, 18 days of radiation, remaining left I/O- aug/2005, surveillance, Wife did IVF oct/2005, DAD OF BABY GIRL born 08-02-2006!!!

thanks, its feeling better today. just waiting around til friday when i have urologist appointment where all results will be discussed...do you think it would be profitable to try to get an appointment with an oncologist set up? or should I just wait and see what urologist says?Left IO 9/29/06

thats all going to be discussed on friday apparently., i had the surgery this past friday, so we are waiting for the pathology report on the tumor, which takes around 3 or 4 business days...so its frida.,Left IO 9/29/06

Good luck friday.Son Jason diagnosed 4/30/04, stage III. Right I/O 4/30/04. Graduated College 5/13/04. 4XEP 6/7/04 - 8/13/04. Full open RPLND 10/13/04. All Clear since.
