do I need chemotherapy !!!????

First of all I wanna thank Scott
Let me tell you what am through now; I had the TC on mid of november my left one was removed it was a teratoma the thing is it was in stage 1 as they said although it was 6cm tumour and on the CT scan beofre the surgery they found nothing on my body only a lil lump like on my chest well they said it is not significant at all less than 4mm and they belive it is only scared tisue or so, any way am on regular blood tests the things worrying me are (before operation AFP =173, HCG =650, LDH = 1650)

1- Am without any chemo yet !! well recent tumour markers are AFP <2,HCG < 4, LDH < 447
2- Iam having lower backache!!!

Any ideas how often pepole they need chemo!!?? and is it necessery !!! in case like mine ?? knowing I did NOT have any CT scans after my operation yet

Lots of things can cause backache, so don't assume it has to be cancer-related. Just keep up with your surveillance appointments. Generally, there's about a 30% chance of recurrence with stage I non-seminoma, in which case you'd need chemotherapy.
