We live in Chattanooga, Tn. We traveled back and forth. We just saw Dr. Roth as my husband did not need any further surgery after Chemo and Dr Roth and my husband other oncologist set up the Chemo cocktails. They also do all of his check ups.

    Dr. Cookson

    Michelle,
Dr. Cookson, and Dr. Roth are great. I lived in Memphis and I also went to them for a second opion. Dr. Cookson is the Surgoen, and Dr. Roth is the Oncologist. I think Dr. Roth was involved with Lance Armstong's treatment and went to I.U. You are in great hands. Good luck and keep us posted.

Getting a second opinion is always a good idea when you're dealing with something as dangerious as cancer. Just remember how curable this is when caught early and treated properly. On behalf of your husband. Thank You.

  • Seeing the Specialist and feeling better about it

Well, we have the appointment made to see the specialist at Vanderbilt University for Jan. 15th. It pushes back the simulation with the rad. onc. by one week but we definitely feel better having a second opinion with a specialist and having the path looked at again. I am feeling much better about all of this. We finally told the kids yesterday exactly what is happening. They knew daddy had a lump removed but we didn't mention cancer until we knew what it was we were dealing with and what the right path for my husband/us would be. My son is 11 and is easily upset when anything out of the norm happens. It is also hard when dad never gets sick and then all of a sudden it is cancer. He is also at that age where he knows just enough about cancer to think that it means instant death. Our daughter is 7 and seems ok with the explanations we have given them. So for now that is all and I am so thankful for all of you on this board. This is such a valuable resource and you all are such a blessing! God Bless all of you and may you all have a wonderful, blessed Christmas!
    ~Michelle
