  • A few questions....after treatment...

    Hello to everybody,

I am 21 years old, I am from Romania and I have recently finished my radiotherapy treatment(20Gy) for a stage I seminoma ( spermatogonic...ever heard of this? it is the same with spermatocystic?). I had an undescended testicle that hasn`t been removed at birth and every doctor(even an endocrinologist) I`ve been told me that is ok and I have nothing to fear.
Anyway, my luck was that the tumor was found early and I could receive treatment promptly consisting in removing the testicle and radiotherapy.
All in all, it seems ok right now, but i still have some questions that some of you might answer.
    1) Should I keep a food regime?
    2) Should or should I not do CT scans ? Are the tumor markers and the xrays enough?
    3) What are the symptoms of recurrence? Only the high tumor markers? Pain or something like this?
I might have more questions but I cannot recall any right now so I may return with another post
    Thank you,

Welcome, Gabriel. Congratulations on finishing treatment!

Regarding question 2: the Testicular Cancer Resource Center reports on this page that CT scans after radiation therapy aren't necessary. The odds of a recurrence in the radiated area don't justify them.
