1 Week Until L-RPLND
I am now exactly 7 days away from my L-RPLND. It is being performed by Doctor Gill at the Cleveland Clinic. Scheduled for April 9th at 6:00 AM. The morning after Easter. Which means that I get to spend my Easter afternoon and evening Prepping my Bowels for abdominal surgery. "Here, Drink this and poop a lot." I'm super excited to undergo this procedure. I feel as I'm on the forefront of Testicular Cancer Treatment.

Son Jason diagnosed 4/30/04, stage III. Right I/O 4/30/04. Graduated College 5/13/04. 4XEP 6/7/04 - 8/13/04. Full open RPLND 10/13/04. All Clear since.

My son is scheduled to have RPLND on April 27th, so keep us posted on how everything goes -- recovery time, etc. We know it's pretty major, but when we found out today that his AFP levels and CT scan still looked good and he could go ahead and have the surgery we were really excited. It seems strange to think of such major surgery as a positive, but you are right in viewing this as being one step closer to cancer free. I understand what you're going thru. Taking our son to Sloan Kettering for his RPLND was one of the hardest things my wife and I ever did. But, 6 days later we were told he's cured.Son Jason diagnosed 4/30/04, stage III. Right I/O 4/30/04. Graduated College 5/13/04. 4XEP 6/7/04 - 8/13/04. Full open RPLND 10/13/04. All Clear since.
