Since we are on the subject of oddities and their cause.

Can anyone think of a cause for TMJ after chemo?

I had mentioned my husband has started snoring as a result of chemo and now he has been have some terrible trouble with his jaw for about 2 weeks now. Of course you look up TMJ (temporomandibular joint dysfunction) on emedicine.com and what is near the top of the article?

"Although most occurrences are related to internal derangement, many joints are painful secondary to nondiskogenic causes, such as referred pain from spondylosis of the upper cervical spine and other inflammatory and neoplastic bone lesions in the vicinity of the TMJ. "

My first thought was, did they really need to put that there for me to read. It is amazing how many things can be "symptoms of cancer"....then after cancer how it can make you consider it. When at one point in life it would never cross your mind that was what it might be....

Anyhow....any thoughts on chemo causing TMJ?

Thanks again
