Dadmo - I'm not going anywhere and will try and spend more time here. Someday, soon I hope, we will have that coctail (or 2) to celebrate.
Margaret - I agree. Everyone is different. It was as emotional to put on as it was to take off. It's a strange sensation to not have it there...almost a freeing sensation if that makes sense. You can trust I will never forget my experiences and will always remain strong and positive. You need both when going through a battle w/ cancer...

Scott, that is great! You sound so happy, I can feel it coming right through the computer!!!
The Livestrong band was one of those funny issues for me...when do I take it off? When Boyce first got sick, I kept telling myself that when chemo ends, I will take it off...and then I figured I would take it off after the RPLND...and then I told myself when Danny was cured I would take it off...but now I see that there will always be a reason or someone to wear it for.
Boyce and I are thinking about getting our bands tattooed someone on our bodies....that way they can bury me with mine
Have a wonderful and happy life Scott!!

I was looking foward to this day. It was great to have you around but better to have you cured. Best of luck Scott.

"Cured!"
I am just getting a chance to access this...
M doc says I am medically cured! I could hardly contain myself when he said that. He says I have about a 10% chance of a recurrence and wants to continue with this surveillance schedule....
Years 3-4: 3 visits to Dana Farber for a CT and bloodwork. No more med tests here in Bermuda, which I am very happy about.
Year 5 - 2 visits to DF
After 5 - 1 per year (for life most likely)
Unless there is a setback, I will not post to this thread any longer. Hopefully this thread doesn't get deleted as my hope is for others to get a sense of what the surveillance approach is like.
I also want to thank those who have followed my story along the way. Even though I haven't be able to access the site as often, I think of you all very much. All of your encouragement, advice, etc has meant more than I can say, so thank you very much.
I'll try and do a better job having hanging around here more than I have recently.
Quick story...which KRoy will appreciate. The center piece on the tables of the Boston Marathon reception dinner in 2006 was a ceramic sneaker. My wife and I keep it on my bed side table. Well, we officially retired our Livestrong bands and placed them around the top of the sneaker. It will continue to serve as motivation to keep my chin up when things don't always go the way I want them to.
Cheers! Scott

If you're up for it (and if you're checking messages), you can find me in Mayer 615. The Mayer building is right next to Dana where we get our CT scans (with the crystal light contrast agent) and have the clinic with Dr. Ross. There's a bridge to Mayer right on my floor (6). I'll be at lab meeting from 11-1, but if you do stop by, feel free to have our admin call me out.

I just remembered that Kman99 is in Boston right now! I don't know if you're checking in while you're in the area, but we'll expect good news from your appointment on Monday.

Will you be in town just for the day? I work in the building next to where the adult clinic is.
