Hi All:

First, I would like to say that I have been reading these posts on and off this past year. I am so glad that I found this support group and that you guys are all really helpful.

I had my left testicle removed in 8/06 for Stage 1. Completed my radiation therapy back in 11/06. Post tests in 1/07 were negative...thank god =). The doctors recommend that I do CT/Ultrasound tests every 6 months to check for recurrence and monitor the small particles in my remaining testicles. My next test will be in 7/07.

My questions is how fast does cancer spread if it were to come back? Is 6 months enough time for it to reach my lympth nodes, my lungs??? What symptons should I look for, besides enlarged testicle?

My CT scan in early March was clear...as was my blood work. I just had one a week and a half ago and my lymph nodes have grown and my bhCG is elevated. So that was only 2 1/2 months or so between scans...

I'm sure staging has something to do with it. Personally, though...6 months would seem a wee bit long.

When it comes to cancer 6 months is a long time. TC could certainly return/spread in that amount of time but probably not enough to find any signs with medical help. The only thing you can count on is the doctors finding something that's why it so important to not skip any follow-ups.

Hi Johnny, glad to hear things have been going well with your treatments. I am not sure about rate of growth in recurrence...I am sure there are members here that will know. I just wanted to lend my support to you and let you know I will be wishing you good thoughts on the 7th.
