prostrate numbers high?

I went to the urologist too have my staples taken out friday, he told me that my pathology report came back as a benign cystic teratoma, They also took my psa for the prostrate , He said it should be a #2 for a 50 year old man and mine is a 4.2 dosn't seem high too me but he said I need to have a biospy done because it is high,
My dads psa was a 7 and he was fine. I know he wants to be on the safe side
and do the biospy because of my tc but hes not the one that has too go threw it. It seems like it will never end. Anyone get there psa test done and know what is normal? I asked him to do a free psa he told me I need a biospy the nurse told me I have bad carma. He is a urologist and my insurance is good,
sometimes they just keep giving you test to make them money I went to a cardiologist for a stress test he ordered a stress test,echo cardiogram,ultrasound,ekg all I wanted was a stress test,they scare you into all the other test. Oh well biospy is next on the prostrate in a weeeek and a halfff ouch!!!

Thanks for all your thoughts: it is a good feeling when you are told it is only a cysts, it,s like winning the lottery. I would of rathered no operation but it was the best way to know . I look like a road map down there from all the scars

whooo hoooo!! Excellent news!!! You have a definative answer now...a CT might have kept you wondering. A lot to go through, but what a wonderful peace of mind you must have now!

you think they could of just did a ct scan to find that out.
They make you wait 2 weeks and the mind has youthinking the cancer is back, getting chemo 'ivs needles ect: It is weard how you always think the worst (the cancer is back) when it could be nothing.Cancer changes your life even if you are cancer free. I am going to try to be more positive

you think they could of just did a ct scan to find that out.
They make you wait 2 weeks and the mind has youthinking the cancer is back, getting chemo 'ivs needles ect: It is weard how you always think the worst (the cancer is back) when it could be nothing.Cancer changes your life even if you are cancer free. I am going to try to be more positive

I dont trust in docs 100%!! You shouldn't too

2.5 years ago, the urologists have told me that I have some infection and...nothing worry about !!![my left testicle where hard like a stone!!]. Only my 'paranoia' has saved me. I discovered the TC myself. I had ultrasound scan at my request and together with some information from internet I realized that I have TC and need immediatly surgery and probably RPLND or chemo. Today, in internet era, with a serios research and some logical thinking you can take a correct decision in your specific case. [by the way, I decided to do only 3xBEP !! not 4xBEP like my onc where asking. Why ? Because I've read the latest clinical results about the cure rate depending of stage abd type of TC].
The best weapon against any serious threat is to try to understant that threat and, together with qualified persons to try to defeat it. [Many peoples have died following the doctor advice. I know some cases bealive me. I'm not trying to generalize but may be yourself]. So, I think that it's very important for a patient to analize more than one opinion, to study the similar cases and clinical experiences posted on internet [and very probably never readed by the old physicians] and to take the correct decision for himself.
I had a permanent battle with my onc during the chemo period. Finally I WON ! Yes, in all aspects :
-the quantity of cisplatin
-the numbers of bep cycles
-the combination with HD vitamin e Antioxidants

rplnd operations are tuff on your body the days after the rplnd it is hard to sleep because your whole body hurts and is sore . It does get better after about a week. I would get another ct scan if blood work is ok. But you don,t know what is best I think I would of been ok with out getting the rplnd you get a big scar and my stomach sticks out more use to be flat I also have extra fat or water under my arm pits since the rplnd . But we all need to do what we have to do, the doctors told me that that is how they treat tc cancer. rplnd surgery is a removal off susepected nodes that may be dieased
I had 35 nodes removed all were negitive for cancer ,when they do your rplnd they will check them for cancer it is the best way to know if cancer is present. good luck in what ever you do

I am not so familiar with anatomy details there, but I would like to encourage you until you are waiting for node removal surgery.
As long as I know, these lymph nodes are not in the lymphatic drainage of the testicle.
I checked your story, you had a RPLND surgery, and years later, you are still wondering about different lymph node activity.
Hope, everything is just normal and not related to the TC you had years ago!

Your post is interesting for me.
Next week, I am scheduled for RPLND. It will be about 9 weeks after my left I/O (earliest date I could have).
My tumor markers returned back to normal after I/O. Pathology said 60% EC, no LI.
My first CT scan reported “no abnormalities”,
but the second one (another clinic) a month later, was more detailed.
And exactly these “however” details are still not “resolved” in my mind, so far. I asked doctors – no definitive answer. What do they mean, and how RLPND will take care about these findings?

“There is no sizeable retroperitoneal adenopathy identified
No inguinal adenopathy No other abnormality..”

And the same report said:

"An intermediate node in the left iliac region.
There are some mesenteric nodes...
They might be incidental findings, but in the clinical context they need to be surveyed"

Apparently, what is “normal” for some other people is "a finding" for us.

Just checking in it,s been 2 years and 6 months since my cancer, I went for my 3 month check up I have a swollen lymph node in my groin area near my incesion were my boy was removed, have to have the node removed in 10 days they will biospy it and check for cancer. All my tumor markers are fine
chest xray clear,cbc fine but i am getting pain in the gron area ever since they told me the lynph node was swollen. now my armpit is startng o hurt plus i am getting a cough could be sinius, had xray of sinius and I had a infection in the right side sinius, and a cold virius three weeks ago took cipro, maybe that could make my groin lymph node swell? The mind starts to make you think all kinds of things. I guess if my tumor markers are ok i should be ok tomc
